Part A

Original Medicare Part A consist of: inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing in a facility, home health care and hospice care services.

Part B

Consists of services from doctors and healthcare providers, preventative and screenings, durable medical equipment, ambulance and outpatient care.

MediGap

Available from private insurers which helps pay for Part A & Part B out-of-pocket costs. Part D Rx Coverage which must be purchased separately.

Part C

Sold by private insurance companies that will administer your Medicare benefits and typically offer extra coverage. such as, dental or vision and hearing.

Part D

Prescription Drug coverage. You purchase and enroll in Part D RX plan through insurance companies. You can’t just look at the premium, you have to look at the formulary.

Hospital Indemnity

Hospital indemnity insurance is an insurance plan you can purchase in addition to your health insurance plan. If you end up spending time in the hospital, you receive a fixed benefit amount paid directly to you to help cover expenses.
